About the Founder – Hideyuki Doi
Hideyuki Doi is the founder of Mototourist LLC, established in 2025.
He graduated from Waseda University, majoring in Japanese Literature, and has been deeply involved in Japan’s motorcycle industry for nearly two decades.
From 2008, he worked at Webike, Japan’s largest online platform for motorcycle enthusiasts, where he developed rider-oriented digital services and built partnerships with over 1,000 motorcycle shops nationwide. These experiences gave him deep insight into Japan’s motorcycle culture and the needs of riders — both domestic and international.
As a lifelong motorcyclist, Doi has toured extensively throughout Japan, from the northern island of Hokkaido to the southern coasts of Kyushu.
He enjoys all styles of riding — long-distance touring, road racing, and off-road adventure — reflecting his broad passion for motorcycles and travel.
His current bikes include a Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT for long-distance touring, a Honda CRF250L for exploring rural backroads, and a Kawasaki KLX230R dedicated to off-road trails.
Through these rides, he continues to explore Japan’s diverse landscapes and local cultures, always seeking out hidden routes and authentic encounters.
When not on two wheels, Doi enjoys running, cycling, reading, and cooking — pursuits that reflect his belief in living a balanced and curious life.
With Mototourist, he hopes to share the same sense of discovery and connection that motorcycle touring in Japan has given him — a journey through landscapes, traditions, and people that can only be experienced on two wheels.
A Message from the Founder
I founded Mototourist LLC. with a simple conviction — that Japan offers one of the best environments in the world for motorcycle touring.
Having traveled extensively across Japan on two wheels, and also toured through Europe and Asia, I came to realize how uniquely rewarding it is to ride through Japan’s diverse landscapes — from its coastal roads and mountain passes to its countryside villages rich in tradition.
At the same time, Japan faces the challenges of population decline and the fading of its rural communities. Many traditional houses, customs, and local industries are at risk of disappearing.
Through Mototourist, I want to connect global riders with these regions — encouraging travel that not only brings joy and discovery, but also helps preserve the culture and heritage that make Japan special.
By experiencing Japan’s satoyama landscapes, staying in renovated traditional homes, and connecting with local people, riders can become part of a meaningful journey — one that supports the future of Japan’s countryside while celebrating the freedom of the open road.
