Riding Through Japan’s Satoyama Landscapes, Culture, and Recovery
The Noto Peninsula is one of Japan’s most culturally rich and quietly beautiful regions. Known for its traditional satoyama landscapes, coastal villages, and historic kominka houses, Noto offers a glimpse into a way of life that has been preserved for generations.

In January 2024, the region was struck by a powerful earthquake. While recovery is ongoing and some roads, accommodations, and dining options remain limited, many local communities are steadily rebuilding their lives and welcoming visitors once again. Traveling through Noto today requires flexibility and care—but it also carries a deeper meaning.

This motorcycle tour is designed not only to experience Noto’s scenery and culture, but also to support the region’s recovery through responsible tourism. By visiting, staying locally, and engaging respectfully with communities, riders can contribute directly to the revitalization of this remarkable area.
